报告摘要:In this talk, an attempt will be made to review the present status of calculations
based on a specific implementation of Density Functional Theory, that is, nonrelativistic
Skyrme functionals. These functionals have reached a quite high level of
sophistication. At the same time, we still miss a universal parametrization that can
explain ground states and excited nuclear states on equal footing. Some ideas for
the improvement of these functionals will be presented.
At the same time, we will describe a complementary approach which is based on
particle-vibration coupling (PVC). The idea that the nuclear spectroscopy around
a spherical core is governed by the interplay between single-particle and vibrational
degrees of freedom is quite old and well established. In this contribution, we
shall nonetheless describe a new formalism which is, in principle, non-perturbative
and contain no adjustable parameters. Applications to giant resonances, charge-exchange
transitions and low-lying states in odd nuclei will be discussed.
A critical perspective will be drawn as it emerges from the comparison between these
different approaches.
