Higgs discovery in 2012, its property studies afterwards, and Standard Model multi-boson measurement, are all crucial for understanding the electroweak symmetry breaking mechanism and searching for new physics signals from relevant portals. Recent studies at the LHC CMS experiment at CERN will be reviewed. The prospects for Run2 upcoming quite soon will also be covered.
About the speaker:
Nicolas Chanon is a particle physicist working at IPHC, Strasbourg, France. Since receiving his PhD in 2011 at the Institut de Physique Nucleaire de Lyon (France), he has been employed as a postdoc researcher by ETH Zurich (Switzerland) and then a faculty member at IPHC. He is a member of the CMS experiment, a particle physics detector at the Large Hadron Collider, and is doing experimental research on the Higgs boson and electroweak measurement at CERN. He has been the convener for the SM Multi-Boson working group at CMS druing 2013-2014.
